fancy feast.

July 28, 2010

Some of my favorite times in life are spent around a table.  Around my aunt’s kitchen table in lower, slower Delaware.  Around my parent’s table after dinner trying to convince my family it’s okay to sit there ten more minutes.  Around my table on Tuesday nights with four incredible friends and (what seemed like) endless bottles of wine.

Yes, most of these times involve food in some format.  But is it really the food that keeps me there?

I’m wondering what the difference between a nice sit down meal versus a fun, still nice but less fancy dinner would mean for the upcoming wedding.

I think it boils down to creating an environment that’s cozy and inviting.  Pull up a chair, and stay awhile.  This is one of the main reasons I want to own a B&B as well.  I want to be in environments that provide ample opportunity for reflection, for laughter and living.  You don’t need fancy food to do that!

All smiles. (No we didn’t eat what’s pictured above. But it was just as good!)

Liquid food is good too.

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind having a meal or ten at this table.
