number 2.

October 20, 2010

Drum roll please.  No really, I guess that’s not necessary.
But a quick recap may be.

I am sussing out future locations for the nameless B&B.
(Perhaps we should have a naming brainstorm session?)  I am trying to narrow it down to 5 potential locations.  You can read about number 1 here.

And number 2? Saratoga Springs, New York.

I know it’s known for this:

But it’s also know for this:

Compliments of Sorelle Gallery.

And where there’s an art school there are artists looking for studio space!  And there are usually a good mix of people politically, economically, socially.  AND there’s usually good food!  (…a must in our book.)

B + I like the idea of upstate New York.  We think it’s beautiful.  And so while we’re not completely sold, we will continue investigating the area.  We stayed here once for a friend’s wedding.  It definitely intrigued us enough to want to learn more.

Any advice is welcome.

Ha! Well, we’re thinking it will be domestic, but we won’t rule it out. I think you’ll have to take us there and show us “your” Nepal though.

I agree about NY. We were in Central NY this past weekend and drove to a town called Skaneateles (pronounced Skinnyatlas) and the foliage was the most fantastic we have seen. We must have hit peak time. We drove through apple country and saw all the red barns and the signs for apples, pies, cider and pumpkins. The town is south west of Syracuse near the Finger Lakes. And the homes were the giant historical homes that are seen all through Central NY. If the winters were a bit different I might consider “retiring” there.
